Dawning Dusk

Complex may it seem
A little rose was conceived
Somehow from a love that's torn
Fragile she may seem
Alas strongly fought
Even the mightiest storm.

Eyes as big as her heart
Taught to love even if not loved
To share even there was none
To dance in the silence of the night.

A voice as loud as thunder feared
Never cried to show her fear
Lest she'll be hurt
From dusk to dawn to last.

A shield for beloved siblings
Vowed to keep them safe
Never mind she'll take the blows
For a mom so kind and dear.

Through the years she fought
To love a man most feared
Only the woman so tender in her heart she kept
Overwhelmed by tears and pains.

Heavens took them both
To leave her all alone
Thank God three sons were born
To claim them as her own.
